By accessing the Tanzania Media Foundation portal, applying for a grant, or downloading from our resource library, you agree to be bound by the following conditions and rules.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using our Services, you confirm your legal agreement to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use our secure grants portals, application tools, or resource repositories.
2. Grant Portal Eligibility
Use of our Secure Grant Portal requires verified accreditation as a journalist, media entity, or licensed broadcaster operating within East Africa. Providing false credentials, fabricated press IDs, or misrepresenting your organizational affiliation constitutes fraud.
3. Intellectual Property (Open Access)
All research reports, legal toolkits, and white papers provided by TMF are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC 4.0), unless explicitly stated otherwise. You are free to distribute these for educational reporting, provided you explicitly credit the Tanzania Media Foundation.
4. Network Code of Conduct
Our platform provides safe, encrypted networking tools for field journalists. You agree not to misuse our reporting interfaces to distribute malware, scrape directories for unapproved commercial marketing, or harass fellow practitioners.
5. Limitation of Liability in the Field
The Safety Protocols and Digital Security Checklists provided by TMF are advisory templates based on industry standards. TMF acts in a capacity-building role and explicitly cannot guarantee your physical, legal, or digital safety in active conflict zones. Usage of our toolkits is at your own professional risk.
6. Account Termination
TMF reserves the right to indefinitely suspend access to the portal for users found violating core ethical journalism guidelines as strictly defined by the Media Council of Tanzania, or attempting to compromise the security architecture of the database.
